Those were some great hard use knives except for the ones that you quantified as hard use slicers.

I agree the Umnum would be damn hard to open with gloves

I abuse my Benchmade Barrage and have been doing so for about ten years. Has held up great. I pry with it, use it as a screwdriver and just generally beat on it.
I've chipped the handle in a few places from beating on things with it. Other than that it's fine. Thanks for the video. Good info.

That Alien knife was one of the best slicers I've ever experienced. I would absolutely consider it hard use. But yeah, like you said it just feels big and bulky, even for a knife I would just use for work and not EDC.

For me, the Reate K2 is the best of this bunch. Just a phenomenal knife and super strong, Ultimate Hunter as well – heaps of cutting power for the money.

Great video! I plan to get a Hinderer and a Sebenza someday. love my Code 4 and American Lawman. Although of the 2 the AL gets carried and used the most. It just keeps going regardless of what I use it for.

I have the Manix 2 in G10 and love it. My most recent hard use knife is the 4 inch Steel Will Barghest. What a monster! A Christmas present from my lovely wife. Thanks for the informative video.

Always tell a knife guy by the cuts and dings on his fingers, and I would say the stronger the lock the better in case of dropping and such in those hard working scenarios.

I can't decide whether to get the ad10 or ad15. Any suggestions?

I wouldn’t use any framelock as a hard use knife. The two knives in my collection that I’d put before any others (including MT Socom Elite manual, ZT’s etc) are 2 Steel Will Gekko back locks. One is a 4” blade and the ‘mini’ is 3.5” blade both in N690. Newer ones come in M390 and D2. They are made in Italy by Viper (high quality) and have a very strong lock. They can actually cut too. I’d take a back lock hands down. I even carried a FRN Delica as a backup user for 2 years. That knife got used hard many times but still looks like new except for scratches on blade and tang.

I was complaining the other day about not getting any from mom and today I finally got lucky. Damn kids suck the fun out of life. Must be a belated birthday present.
