If you like the F-S knife you should read Get Tough! by Major W.E.F. as relevant today as it was when written. Loading... I bought mine 20 years ago and still carry it today. Loading... Scary piece of kit Loading... Absolute rubbish! They should be a shamed making shit like this. You have not bought a real one, you have purchased a cheap shit wallhanger! Loading... I ordered one myself, used your vid to confirm my Sheffield England blade, with markings exactly like your. Thanks for the review and comparison with KBar Loading... Tiny pedantic point. The company you bought it from , a very good and reputable one , is in Wales , not England . Still the UK , but we’re quite prickly about the identity of the four nations that make up the United Kingdom. Excellent knife , I still have my dad’s second pattern one ,with the knurled brass hilt. He stuck that through a few carotid arteries when taking part in British army commando raids in Norway during World War Two .I also have the letter sent to him by the Norwegian king ( actually the king’s private secretary- “ I am commanded by His Majesty…..”) thanking him for his service to Norway . Also watch national army museum. Watch Stan Scott talking about how you use it correctly. This man was a legend. A real commando. Loading... Many are cheap copy's. The tabs on the sheath are for sowing into trouser legs. If you want a decent one you kneed to spend some money for it. Loading... J. Nowell and Sons has been making knives for around 400 years. They make great quality cutlery. The edges need to be sharp as you don’t want your opponent to grab the blade with his hand. Loading... Do you have a link from where you bought it? Loading... I’ve this knife. I’m from Sheffield. It’s MOD spec and it can slash. With it being MOD spec commandos are expected to sharpen it themselves. All MOD knifes and machetes /goloks are the same Loading... I got my one from https://www.barringtons-swords.com/ a very good service. Loading... Pounds and pence 😂. Loading... I bought one of these J.Norwill Fairbairn Sykes fighting knives for $52 US on eBay. The ONLY thing that was not perfect was that the center line of the blade was cut off center at the last 5 cm at the tip. The edge came partially sharpened, and came to a fair sharpness with a diamond steel and ceramic rod sharpening tool. The bluing on the knife is excellent. I will not correct the center line near the tip because rebluing the corrected area would not match the rest of the blade. Original wartime knives probably had similar flaws on occasion. The point is very sharp. The sheath is made from thick enough leather to last a long lifetime and the rivets and stitching are strong, but it is a bit too wide at the top near the hilt so the fit is a bit sloppy, but it works. The tabs for sewing it onto garment or kit are thick and strong so if relied upon, the sheath will not tear free and the knife become lost. I've wanted a FS fighting for 40 years, and this one is a very good reproduction, especially for this price. Loading... https://youtu.be/uDGHKyB3T_U Loading... THIS IS A FIRST STRIKE KILL BLADE…. Loading... It's a steel insert in the tip of the scabbard. The sticky-out tabs are so you can sew the scabbard onto your battledress in a location of your personal choice! 😁 Loading... A vicious blade for one purpose only Loading... The F/S is a purpose built blade, when you un-sheath it, you better have a letter to open in the other hand. Loading... Have you used this blade how has it been holding up for you? Thanks Loading... That's a Chinese model. Research more that doesn't look right. Loading... To the people complaining it’s not sharp enough FUCKING SHARPEN IT Loading... In use the blade is kept flat so it goes between the ribs. The idea was you push it between the ribs at an angle so it cuts the diaphragm and the tip enters the heart. Alternatively it allows you to cut the carotid artery and go thru the cartilage of the trachea. Loading... I still don't care for the British commando knife. I don't like the design, especially, the handle. Just give me the KA-BAR any day of the week. Thank you! Loading... Leave a Reply Cancel reply This site uses Akismet to reduce spam.
