You didn’t “choose the size to be similar to a smartphone,” you bought a dry box already designed for a smart phone and used it. I’ve had one in my canoe since iPhones were a thing. And dryer lint works tons better for your combustible and is also more cost effective to redirect the expense to other parts of the kit.

This is interesting. I have one of those cell phone dry cases that collects dust now that my phone has been replaced and is waterproof on its own (also it is a bit smaller than my previous phone so it rattles around inside it). I may have to look into putting a kit like this together either as a kit on it's own or as a companion to another small one I have been putting together in a small EDC molle pouch (similar to the maxpedition EDC pouch but a knock off).

Those wirl packs come off to me as over priced when a zip lock can do the same, I looked at the price and almost choked on the wirl pack price

Statement: A well-thought out and equipped kit. It's refreshing to see that you've taken water more seriously than most people do, if it is an emergency or crisis situation you may find yourself exerting way more than you're used to. Depending on the environment that can turn you water critical in less than a day. It's good to have spares but truthfully most people have way too many knives and fire methods but don't have any calories or water.

i also play with fire my stops me everytime but i play with fire i think i am expert to burn any paper with glasses
