Totally agree with Sootch about practical usability of this knife in lighter category survival scenarios, beater truck knife, when you don't care about the rust taking over, cheap "economy" version of Cold Steel that could be there to save the day. For anything more like a hardcore TEOTWAKI situation I'd still stick with Cold Steel but with their higher end knives like Trailmaster, Tanto series, Tai Pan series or Shanghai Warrior type blades.
Awesome video and good to see you Sootch my brother 🙂 God bless.

US30,00 with international shipping at Ebay, you get a stainless steel knife, razor sharp out of the box, with a good quality ferro rod, a decent sheath, a working compass and a basic kit inside the knife. Still 90% of the comments are complaining about the reviewer and CS.
I have other CS knives, full tang knives and a lot of folders, and I´m still buying one of these to add to my collection of maybe leave on a backpack or in my tackle box.
He never said that it would be his primary blade, or would walk into a zombie apocalypse using only that knife.
Not everybody is willing to spend 100-200 dollars on a camp knife, and not everybody is thinking of batoning with a knife. Get over it!
Also comparing it to Moras it doesn´t make any sense. A Mora Companion costs almost the same, doesn´t come with the ferro rod or any of the other things on that kit, and is also not a full tang knife.
If you want to compare that to a similar knife you would have to go to the Mora Survival knife (which is over 70-80 bucks) or a Mora Garberg (or something like that), which is their first model that has a full tang (also at least 80 bucks).
Remember that not everybody has the same cash at their disposal, or simply don´t want/need to spend 100 bucks on a knife.

I generally like Cold Steel, but saying how rock solid the handle is as you squeeze it and it bends? Also the blade gets bent on the review? LT has done better.

Very interesting Clod Steel Survival knife Sootch00. As always long live the republic my friend.

Step 1: Buy knife
Step 2: Remove contents
Step 3: Place contents into another kit
Step 4: Insert cotton/vaseline balls into handle… fire kit knife!

For $19.99 you can own the strongest knife in the world! But wait there's more! If you call right now, we'll send you 2! Just pay for additional shipping charges.

Sootch could you do a video on bag for your boat? I am on the water quite a bit and would like to see your take on it.

Old junk Rambo knife had a quicky with a mora. Come on Don, this review is below you. Expect alot more from you.

COOL knife, but I'll stick with my full tang knives, besides I have a pocket knife. But good video review!and as always, keep walking with our KING

I have a cold steel finn bear knife and the blade came razor sharp from cold steel. I didn't have to take a sharpener to it at all when I received it. I love cold steel products.

"derrr, no full tang, I don't trust it….." Guys…There are many knives that people trust their lives, and livelihood with, that do Not have a full tang. Most of Morakniv's offerings do not have a full tang. The KaBar does not have a full tang. What are you doing with a knife, if you know you won't be just slicing or cutting? There are better tools for that. I have a mora, a ka-bar, a cold steel, a schrade…. a Buck, a Gerber, etc, they all have different uses and specialties. Now, if it's your "one tool option"…why is it your only tool? Even the cast of Alone took more than just a knife…….. ps, i do have one of these. It actually is kinda silly. I do know how to use it without breaking it, like a moron. But, I would also never take it where it was my primary cutting tool…. thanks.

The Mora that I found on Amazon was $78 compared to this Cold Steel for less than $20. Don't compare apples to alligators folks.

I have a Cold Steel Bushman that has a knife retention system like this, as well as a ferro rod/holder. It's plastic, and the knife rubs against the tabs that hold it in, so they will eventually wear out and you'll have retention problems, but both Bushman knives are good pieces, especially for the price. I looked up the price of this knife on Amazon, and it's $23.50 or so after taxes. This is a great knife for adults and kids that you need to teach as well. If you break it, at least it wasn't a Mora that doesn't have the hollow handle w/get-you-by kit provided.
Would I trust this knife with my life? Well, if it was all I had, then I guess I'd have to, huh? This is an outdoor knife of inexpensive manufacture, and it's robust, stays sharp and does what it's supposed to do. Hell, it even has a handguard on it. It'll bend a lot and we haven't seen it break, and a broken knife is a worthless knife (unless you watched Ironclad…….and I won't give away the ending if you haven't). It isn't pretty but I don't want pretty: I want results. I ordered one and I'll get back to you all with my own assessment to support or not support this review. I'll get it Wednesday and I'll try to get to you all by Friday; Saturday latest. Deal?
